Day 7~ Learn How to Say No~ Joyce Meyer's 100 Ways to Simplify your Life devotion and reflection

Good Afternoon! I am so happy to share with you today of what God has in store for you. We will continue with our devotional reading and reflection on Joyce Meyer's 100 Ways to Simplify Your life. We are going into day 7! Let's recap of what we have discussed.
1) Do One thing at a Time
2) Be Satisfied with What You Have
3) Keep God First
4) Live to Glorify God
5) Don't Worry about Tomorrow
6) Let Go of What Lies Behind
and  now we are at day 7!!!
 7) Learn how to say NO~ Our scripture reading is from James 5:12, " But let your yes be [a simple] yes, and your no be [a simple] no, so that you may not sin and fall under condemnation."

WOW! another eye opener with that being said! A "no" means "no" and a "yes" means "yes", but we fall into the cycle of pleasing everyone that we are in contact with. We either have family obligations, work obligations, church obligations, and so forth. Sometimes we take on more than we can handle and we wonder why we are over exhausted. We are running on over load! like I have stated in previous discussions how I am about ready to graduate college with my Bachelor's Degree in Business and management! This is something that is important to be aware of! I tend to do a lot because I like to stay busy and feel I have to do it. The biggest lesson was when the feeling of emptiness or feeling overwhelmed was causing me issues. I was doing things with previous church because I thought that was what God wanted me to do but felt overwhelmed! I was pressured to keep people happy but when I knew God called me to do something I was ridiculed! So this left me confused! I had to learn to say "No" and mean it without feeling guilty! It is okay to serve God through our gifts and talents but we sometimes overbook ourselves in areas that we know others could do if we stepped back for awhile. Somebody else could be a blessing! We often don't realize that family and friends can put us in a bind with their obligations for us! They want us to be involved when it is convenient for them or satisfies themselves! It is ok to say "NO!"
