Day 23~ The Battle Belongs to the Lord~ waiting on God~ Our battle cry
Good afternoon! Isn't God is good! We have come a long ways in our discussion through Joyce Meyer's book, " 100 ways to simplify your life."
God gives us wisdom to learn the difference in handling issues and problems. We have a lot of confused thinkers who see problems as issues and issues as problems. Many of our issues will fade out and many of our problems will be solved during this process.
Day 22~ The Battle Belongs to the Lord~
Our scripture reading comes from 2 Chronicles 20:17, " You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem."
Wow! Take a moment and let that verse sink deep into your heart. Matter fact, find a note card and write this one down. Life throws us lemons, we just need to learn how to handle them. So many times we try to fight every battle that we come into contact with only to find ourselves getting discouraged, disappointed, overwhelmed, and we can easily mess it up.
If we look at 2 Chronicles 20: 17-22, God gives Jehoshaphat"...You will not have to fight this battle." We can break it down into three simple steps. Jot this down!
Step 1. Seek the Lord first. (Jehoshaphat and his people were getting ready to be attacked by a vast army and they consulted with God first). God wants us to make wise decisions, and he also wants us to acknowledge him with any decision we are facing.
Step 2. Worship God, Sing and praise God! (Turn it up! Worship the King of kings and Lord of lords!)
Step 3. Wait! Jehoshaphat was instructed to wait and see the deliverance of the Lord.
Reflection~ Waiting on the Lord~Battle Cry
Waiting is the hardest part for many of us. You can either wait passively or expectantly. This is why so many Christians are discouraged! Many Christians do not understand the true meaning behind waiting. To passively wait means that you are just sitting around doing nothing and you will eventually give up! But if we wait expectantly you are positioning yourself to hear from God and also learning how to trust him. While we are trusting him, we should also be serving him.
King David breaks it down in three ways how we should do while waiting:
- Wait quietly - (Ps. 62:5)" My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him."
- Wait patiently- (Ps. 37:7) "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass."
- Wait expectantly- (Ps. 105:5) " Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,"
God gives us wisdom to learn the difference in handling issues and problems. We have a lot of confused thinkers who see problems as issues and issues as problems. Many of our issues will fade out and many of our problems will be solved during this process.
