Day 63~ False Sense of Responsibility~ working together~

Day 63 Welcome to our devotional reading and reflection as we continue through Joyce Meyer's book, " 100 Ways to Simplify Your Life." Today's devotional is going to be a difficult topic but it has to be discussed because it is something we all do or fall into trap doing.

Day 63~ False Sense of Responsibility~

Our scripture comes from Psalm 7:10, " My defense and shield depend on God, Who saves the upright in heart."
I grew up fast in my life and to have responsibility for myself was the biggest issue I developed. Problem is that if nobody does it, I will do it myself. It is difficult to let other people help me or allow them their own time to complete it. This has become apparent in college when I did team assignments, I literally tore it apart from scratch to make sure it was correct. We make plans on who wants to do the parts. Problem is, that it has to be like a one person wrote it and follows exactly what the assignment called for. It has to be uniformed. Many times I argued with my team members but every time we did our papers or presentation, we got perfect score. When I was placed online, team members had to face things with new people. One of my friends called me and said, " Now I know why you did what you did for our assignments." It is stressful but at times I know I could have walked away. They are responsible for my grade as well and I had worked hard to achieve that GPA! Now, there were times I have stepped over the boundaries and was harsh. I had to take responsibility for my actions. Tough love is hard but for many people they have to learn on their own and stick to your word. We all came to school for a reason, why should we allow free riders to join us? If we fix everybody's problems, we will eventually destroy our own lives. Many times God needs us to humble ourselves to allow people do things their way and our way isn't always right for anybody else. If your child cleans up their room to their best ability, rejoice it is cleaned!!!! Breathe! There is more to life! Some of the stuff that we are doing, is it really what we need to do?

Reflection~ Working Together~

According to 1 Corinthians 12:12, " For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ." In our churches we find many who are not doing anything and ones doing it all. As a member of a church, yes you have responsibilities. In reality, it has nothing to do with the building, but us who call themselves Christians. We are responsible to share the gospel of Christ with all who we have contact with but let's be honest, we think it's all the pastors job. FALSE! If you are a true follower of Christ, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SHARE THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST! Your life should easily reflect to others the love you have for Christ. We aren't alone with this, that's why we are called brothers and sisters in Christ.
