Day 70 ~ Progress Done One Step at a Time ~ Patience is Trusting God's Timing

" Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish." ~ John Quincy Adams~

Welcome to day 70 devotional reading and reflection as we continue through our discussion bases on Joyce Meyer's book, " 100 Ways to Simplify Your Life." The last few days we have focused on making changes to better our lives. We have a few more topics to bring it into full circle as to why changes are important.

Day 70 ~ Progress Done One Step at a Time~

Our scripture reading comes from James 1:4, " But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [ with no defects], lacking in nothing."

Write this verse down on a note card and place it where you will see it everyday. If you have made notes on changes that God has brought to your attention within the last few days or weeks, this verse will keep your focus. God loves us so much and any changes that we face, he is proud! He wants us to grow but he also wants to remind us that we are a working progress. You are aware of the quick schemes to loosing weight, dating, and to even building your own business. I'm not saying they are wrong, but we have to be wise. Rome wasn't built in a day. I have been battling weight issues since I was a child. I have to keep working at it but I have come to this conclusion, I am who God created. It is the effort I put forth that makes a difference. If we truly seek after God, he will take care of our enemies one by one as it is stated in Deuteronomy 7:22, " The LORD your God will drive those nations out ahead of you little by little. You will not clear them away all at once, otherwise the wild animals would multiply too quickly for you." If I loose too much weight too fast, it will mess up my body compared to allowing my body to get used to the changes that I am making. God said to always wait for his timing. If we become impatient which in turn makes us feel miserable, and frustrated because we think it needs to be done now. Expecting something instantly is really an unrealistic expectation that often leads to many of our disappointments.

Reflection~ Patience is Trusting God's Timing~

Patience is one of the Fruit of the Spirit that is within us, and if we learn to wait with a good attitude, patience will develop and grows within our lives. Waiting is difficult but it is worth it in the end. If you are in the season of waiting, rejoice God's timing is perfect. Enjoy every step of progress you are making through your journey and understand that the process will take time helps you to feel more relaxed in your daily life. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Keep moving forward, you are doing good!
