Day 20~ Only believe~ understanding Faith~

Welcome to our devotional reading and reflection through our discussion based on Joyce Meyer's book,"100 Ways to simplify your life."It is exciting to see what God has in store for us today!

Day 20~ Only Believe~

Our scripture reading comes from John 11:40," Jesus said to her, Did I not tell you and promise you that if you would believe an rely on Me, you would see the glory of God?"

Believe~ is defined as to accept (something) as true; feel secure of the truth of.

It isn't always easy to have faith and confidence in circumstances that we face. Things are uncertain with the struggle with my dad being out of work due to an injury he sustained while he was at work. The turmoil of the fact that he is facing issues after issues with his health. I sometimes have fear, doubt and overreact that it does complicate my life even more. So lately, I have been digging deeper into God's word and writing down my concerns before the Lord. I started to write down verses regarding His promises. If we fix our eyes on Jesus instead of the problem these things will be under control. I have anxiety just like everyone else, but I have learned to breathe through and just talk it out with God. Once I have stated the problem, I start to listen to God to show a solution or help me to focus more on him. One third of the time, I am over reacting. Grab your journal or some note cards.Write these verses down and place in your bible or on your wall to refer to when your unbelief takes over.
Mark 9:23," And Jesus said,[you say to Me],If you can do anything? [why,] all things can be(are possible) to him who believes!"
Deut.31:6, " Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you."
Rom.15:13,"May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope."

Reflection~ understanding Faith~

Faith~ is an absolute belief that God is constantly working behind the scenes in every area of our lives, even when there is no tangible evidence to support that fact. It is a confident assurance in a God who loves us, who knows our thoughts and cares about our deepest needs. That faith continues to grow as we study the Bible and learn the attributes of His amazing character. The more we learn about God, the more we can see Him working in our lives and the stronger our faith grows. Count the times you saw God working in your life and remember those times.
Hebrews 11:1," Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
