Day 33~ Follow Your Heart~Your Inner Compass

Welcome to day 33 devotional reading and reflection as we continue our discussion through Joyce Meyer's book, " 100 ways to simplify your life." We are looking at following your heart in things that we know God is leading us to do in our lives. Once we have stepped out in faith, courage to move forward we will have the enemy attack us. We will discuss it more throughout this devotion.

Day 33~ Follow Your Heart~

Our scripture reading comes from Ephesians 3:12, " In whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear)."

Another reason our lives get so complicated, we forget our goal and we get off course easily either by discouragement or situations in lives. God has a purpose for us all to achieve but we can get side tracked to what the world thinks we need to do. It is popular for people to use dating sites to try to meet someone. Granted it is difficult to meet people! I stayed away from dating sites myself because of my faith in God said in his time he would provide me a mate. Remind you that at the beginning of creation, God brought Eve to Adam. We have plenty of times read in the bible how to view courtship and dealing with relationships, that we many think that it is outdated. We have free choice in who we pick to be our mate just like we have for everything else. Having affairs with either opposite sexes is wrong and God doesn't like to see that for his children. According to God's word, he has guidelines in dealing with what is or not appropriate ways to handle relationships. You really have to consider if that person is truly for you. If you see less of God in their character, most likely there is something that they aren't telling you. Granted the person you have known your entire lifetime can change or we change when the partner doesn't grow with us. I knew in my heart to wait on God's timing! I didn't date in high school nor throughout life. I am waiting for Boaz. The problem is I had a rough experience in this department back when I was younger if only I consulted with God or listened to God about a certain person, things would have never happened emotionally. God spared me throughout the whole process, including saving me from a tornado. Many feel that this is old fashion to wait! Has it been easy ?!?!? No!! In high school I was set apart because I was president of our Bible club which I encouraged younger students to stand in their faith against temptations. Doesn't get you elected to homecoming nor prom! I don't regret the path that was paved for me! I know God has someone special for me and I cannot wait until we are together when it is time.

Reflection~ Your Heart is your Inner Compass

God has something planted deep within our hearts. The urge to do something radical even though it is not popular as the world sees it, takes courage to do it. Sometimes God calls us to do something for a season! If we only focus on what the world says we should do, the more empty we will feel in our lives. Many people want to get married and ask God for a mate. We need to change that prayer around to, " make me ready to be a wife or husband for my future mate. " Many times during seasons in our lives, God has something for us to do while going through that particular season. Life changes and so don't we. These are the times we need to trust God even more. During those times, we need to ask God what his plans are for you during that season of your life.
"The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart from generation to generation." Psalm 33:11
