Day 31~ Don't Receive Condemnation~
Our scripture reading comes from Romans 8:1, " Therefore, [this is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit."
According to Webster dictionary, condemnation means a strong disapproval or criticism. The action of condemning someone to a punishment. Conviction on the other hand means, the act of proving that a person is guilty of a crime in a court of law; a strong belief or opinion; the feeling of being sure that what you believe or say is true. We are all sinners (human creature on this earth) which if we read Romans 3:23, " for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..." Listen, I want you to be able to understand the difference and understand how God works in this. I am a sinner! I was 13 years old when I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. I understood that His blood was shed for me. No I did not murder anybody (as the world sees sin) but I have numerous times quenched the spirit of God and slashed people with my tongue. It carries the same weight as killing someone. No I am not perfect nor will I be perfect until the day I reach glory. The devil wants to keep us trapped in our past because he knows his future. It's time we know our future too! Through conviction God's purpose is lead us to admit we did wrong. With condemnation, the devil allows us to feel guilty and ashamed which in turn keeps us in the cycle of sin. My weight issues is a thorn in my flesh but I know that if I keep my focus on God, I can see his beauty that he created.
Reflection~ There is Freedom in Jesus
According to Romans 6 : 6-8, "For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him." God wants us to live with him forever in heaven. Satan wants to keep you locked in chains and live with him for eternity in HELL. With God you have peace and joy if only you believe and receive the gift in His son Jesus Christ as your personal savior. Write in your journal for this day as My Freedom in Jesus Christ!
