Day 46~ Trust God~ Changes You

Welcome to day 46 with our devotional and reflection as we continue our journey through Joyce Meyer's book, " 100 ways to simplify your life."

Day 46~ Trust God~

Our scripture reading comes from 1 Corinthians 15:10, " But by the grace ( the unmerited favor and blessing) of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not [found to be] for nothing (fruitless and without effect). In fact, I worked harder than all of them [the apostles], though it was not really I, but the grace (the unmerited favor and blessing) of God which was with me."

It is so difficult at times to fully trust God with everything that comes around. How often do we try to change the circumstances? We just make them more complicated! God is in control of all things and I have learned that it is a waste of time to try to fix it or control it. I was looking forward to this weekend because my classmates and I were planning on getting pictures done for graduation. We were planning on just hanging out with each other. Then Hurricane Matthew perked. It was looking terrible at any direction and pictures would not be as beautiful where we are planning to have them. We had to cancel for the following weekend. I am disappointed but inside my heart I know it is best due to weather. God has the day picked out for these pictures to be done. There is no point in me crying and pleading that we could do them somewhere else. That was the old me! I have many lessons in learning that frustration only leads to works of the flesh. If I am feeling frustrated it is because I am doing on my own without God. We show honor to God when we depend on Him in all things.

Reflection~ Changes You~

As we read in Philippians 1:6, " being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." God is showing us each time we have to trust him, it is because he is transforming us for the next thing he has for us. If we are resisting changes, we are hindering our blessings. God changes you through your circumstances rather than changing the circumstances to make you feel better. There are lessons we have to learn over and over again that we need God all the time. I am disappointed that pictures were cancelled but I am trusting God that he has something better. I can cry all I want to but I have to realize who is in control. Also with trusting God, he is teaching you to wait on Him! We can't move ahead without him! Change does take time but if you repent of being in control today, you are allowing God to fulfill His promises to you! Don't wait! Trust Him today and see how he changes YOU! It is always worth it!
