Day 51~ Don't be complicated~ The Lord preserves the simple~

Welcome to day 51 with our devotional and reflection reading as we continue our discussion through Joyce Meyer's book, "100 ways to simplify your life." This a stopping point in our journey as we took a deep breathe just to reflect on God and His majesty. Our life................

Day 51~ Don't be Complicated~

Our scripture reading comes from Psalm 116:6, " The Lord preserves the simple: I was brought low, and He helped and saved me."
This is one of those moments where God is looking at you square in the face. DON'T MAKE IT MORE COMPLICATED THAN YOU NEED TO! That's it you guys! Breathe! It's simple. Yes I am they one who over thinks about everything. Every detail. I am worst at making decisions when I am clothes shopping. I am looking for something particular. I have been known to buy a style shirt in different colors. Take them home decide which ones I truly like and then return them. I know most of you just whispered, " At least you return." There is so many things in this life we complicate and we miss out enjoying what God has for us. When it comes to altering decisions, I struggle. Life decisions! Either it is or it isn't. This is where your " yes" means "yes" and your "no" means "no" sermon. Many things in our life we make it worse by over complicating the situation or decision. We can spend all our time listing and checking all we want but, if we stop long enough in that process God has already told you what to do. I had to figure out how to get remaining credits to graduate. I had enough money saved from school money but then I was in an accident. Therefore was given a ticket. Panic because I had to figure out what credits I needed to graduate. God lead me to Isaiah 30 :15," For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not." God always provides a blessing and a warning in His promises. Read the verse over again. I had limited time to get credits applied with working for 60$ a week and had a ticket that was going to be applied. I had a court date and I had the wrong letter for it to be dismissed. Meantime, I had to continue for the ticket, did some work for friends was able to pay for credits, funds were released in time to register Ethel and have my cap and gown. October 10 my ticket was dismissed. If I didn't catch that verse and allowed God to map out exactly how he wanted me to get these credits applied, I wouldn't be graduating. God is good through it all. My degree from Ashworth College is the one I would get credits transferred and the officers name from my accident was Ashworth. During that whole entire time of the accident, He was listening to KLOVE. One of my classmates called me and said, " God has something big for you." I know we get bent out of shape, but if we stop long enough, it's there. It's the process but at the end it's worth it.

Reflection~ The Lord preserves the simple~

One of the great things people are missing is truly knowing who God is in their life. I know without a doubt, there were times I could have avoided a lot of stuff but during those times God used for His glory for me to be able to share with you about His grace and mercy. We make relationships difficult. That's why many Christians are suffering because they have God pictured to be complicated. Yes there are standards to being in a relationship with Him. It doesn't mean that he doesn't love us. He just wants us to have the confidence in knowing who is in control at all times in our life. I rather please God first than man. My relationship with him is sacred just like my relationships with people. The only way to have it is to forget preconceived notion of the God that you picture. Get him out of your box. He's bigger! It's all about trusting Him!
