Day 62~ Living within a Margin~ Love God First~
Day 62 is here and we have so much to learn from past devotionals and reflections that this should highlight what God truly wants for his children. Let's get ready to dig deeper...........
Day 62~ Living within A Margin~
Our scripture reading comes from 1 Chronicles 23:25, " For David said, The Lord, the God of Israel has given peace and rest to his people."
Many past devotionals have been hitting on this topic in so many different ways. It is important to start living within a margin in our daily lives. The definition of margin as a noun is to edge or border something like flower beds. Margin as a verb is providing with an edge or border. The definition changes in our actions. It takes discipline and self-control to learn how to be effective with our time so we won't be overwhelmed or frustrated. I'm either way too early or flying in at the last minute. Like skidding into my grave. My best friend Liz would always tell me to be some place 15 minutes early in order to be on time. She said the only time I would be on time would be for my funeral. With a little adjusting, we can learn to add time to accomplish tasks and booking appointments to be at more peace and less stressed. I have found this awesome writer, Michael Hyatt who has provided awesome insight in how this can be accomplished. He has designed a template that helps to record your days to help keep margins in our lives.
Some tips he adds are as followed:
1). Limit time online
2) Plan your day in advance
3) Touch emails once
4) Triage your calendar
5) Schedule time in the " alone zone."
6) Group similar tasks together that require similar resources
7) Use email templates to say " No!"
Reflection~Love God First~
We have been taught golden rules throughout our lives since we were young children. God even has margins in how we handle ourselves and people around us.
Golden Rules:
Love God first above anything else
Be kind to others
Treat others how you would want to be treated
Don't steal, hurt, or abuse yourself or others
Walk the talk you preach
Do what you say you are going to do
Keep life simple by putting God first
