Day 53~ Be easy to get along with~ Live in peace~ is to pray for peace
Welcome to day 53 devotional and reflection as we continue our discussion through Joyce Meyer's book, " 100 ways to Simplify Your Life." We are going to discuss peace and try to expand the knowledge of what we already know but make it 3D affect! Let's start............
Day 53~ Be Easy to Get Along With~
Our scripture reading comes from 2 Corinthians 13:11, " Be of the same [agreeable] mind one with another; live in peace, and [then] the God of love [Who is the Source of affection, goodwill, love, and benevolence toward men] and the Author and promoter of peace will be with you."
This is a heavy verse but I am going to highlight the connection of this verse to magnify the importance of it: LIVE IN PEACE. This is something I am learning how to strive for more peace in my life. I have to consider with dealing with people, I have to keep my attitude in line. That alone is the key behind living in peace. I have to admit, I have issues with OCD and I have to have things be a certain way in order to function at times. You don't realize it until one day God removes it for a moment. This also makes me to press into God more. He keeps me stable. Our relationships are suppose to work like that. I am currently taking a bible study that Priscilla Shirer wrote called, " Armor of God", this week we have been discussing shoes of Peace. She notes that a soldier's boots had spikes protruded from the thick leather soles. This gave them the ability to stand firm. Standing firm was the ability to dig deeper into the earth and was a defensive posture. These soldiers stood shoulder to shoulder that was a tight linear configuration, bringing strength to the whole line. God provided Adam with Eve by removing the rib of Adam and placed her by his side. When you stand side by side, you are standing firm with God the center and together is LOVE! You are holding the line from the attack of Satan in that relationship.
Reflection~ Live in Peace~ Is to Pray for Peace
In Isaiah 26: 3-4, " Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength..." If we trust God it opens our hearts to be thankful and grateful in our faith allows the peace of God to surpasses all understanding. WOW! Pray for peace!
